Business of Trust Survey – City of London Corporation
With levels of trust flatlining across sectors, what needs to change? What are the practical actions that individuals and organisations can take to increase trustworthiness? The City of London Corporation wants to hear your views via this short survey: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/businessoftrust
As part of the City of London’s Business of Trust initiative, the City of London Corporation has developed five guiding principles (the CIVIC principles) as foundations of trustworthiness. They want to hear a range of different views on how these principles, and the practical actions that individuals and organisations can take, can help to increase trustworthiness. All responses will be anonymised.

GUEST BLOG by Dr Clare Murray: The Business of Relationships
I was so delighted when Dr Clare Murray said ‘yes’ to writing a guest blog for the Intelligent Ethics website on The Business of Relationships. As an expert in relationship therapy, Clare has transferred her huge amount of practical experience and extensive research into the world of business. She critically examines WHY relationships are key to organizational performance in the world we live in today, HOW leaders can unlock deeper levels of respect and trust through their relationships and WHAT we need to focus on – is it the individual or the relationship that is the priority?
You really need to read the article here to find out the answers to these questions. Clare and I are developing some really exciting ideas together, blending her insights on the power of relationships with the Intelligent Ethics focus on ethics and organizational culture – watch this space.

Digital transformation isn’t a technology upgrade – it’s a change in attitude and mindset
I’ve been exploring with an ex-colleague of mine, David Knight, who has co-founded DEfactoED with Tim Field, what responsible business can do to educate, empower and equip their people on new and emerging technologies as part of the wider digital disruption.
I’ll be bringing a business ethics line of sight and diversity lens to the work of DEfactoED, who believes that the most important route to success in an organization’s digital transformation is through its people, more so than the underlying technology. DEfactoED have been researching, in partnership with leading e-learning company Kineo, how large established corporates can ignite the full potential of their people, and our conclusion is that you can learn your way through digital change. In fact, you probably have to, because the capabilities and skills required to adapt to digital are very scarce and often haven’t been invented yet.
It’s a provocative and profoundly different view of transformation – find out more about the research and sign up for the latest news here.
